Alanna started out as a CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) after earning her degree in Therapeutic Recreation at Western Washington University. She worked at a Psychiatric Hospital on the adolescent and children's units and spent time working on the adult unit. She developed many of her games and activities while working at the hospital. After writing her first book she traveled the country leading the TAG (Therapeutic Activities and Games) workshop teaching other professionals the value of using games in a therapy setting. Currently, Alanna is busy writing a book of soccer drills for coaches of young children that are fun but that still teach soccer skills. She is also the mother of two children and spends many hours leading a youth group at her church and coaching her daughter's soccer team.
